Job Description

The Business Process Associate is responsible for the planning, administering, executing and communicating information in a non-

voice environment to support insurance policy services, claims processing and underwriting in an insurance outsourcing domain.

This role maintains and updates records and databases in accordance with prescribed formats and system requirements.

  • Process and capture information to system according to established methods and procedures
  • Handle highly sensitive and heavily regulated Hong Kong Provident Fund
  • Consistently attain the service level set by the Company
  • Practice good judgment in processing cases
  • Perform thorough checking for every case and eliminate financial errors
  • Render overtime work on a daily basis during high volume week
  • Stay on-call on an as-needed basis during Saturdays and holidays
  • Assist colleagues and other teams in their production work upon request
  • Manage leaves / day-offs especially during peak season
  • Constantly increase the number of knowledgeable functions handled by the team
  • Suggest ways on how to improve the current process and team metrics
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned by Operation Management
  • Qualifications :

  • College Graduate in any field
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Knowledge of Streetscape, BPM, LARS and Licensing Process is an advantage
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Fast Learner and can work with minimum supervision
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good attendance record
  • Key Accountabilities :

  • Support onboarding / underwriting of new cases and set-up and compensation of financial advisors.
  • Examines all documents received in a new case submission while enforcing the John Hancock Retirement Plan Services Guidelines to ensure all required forms are received and completed in compliance with federal and state legislation
  • Assesses the pricing the client has agreed to base on the expected versus the actual plan specifications. Determines on whether a new documentation is required by the client due to pricing changes
  • Identifies compliance issues and recommends options for resolution and / or escalate when necessary to management or other members of customer base
  • Builds and maintains solid relationships with all members of customer base by responding effectively to questions to internal and external parties.
  • Alerting issues and problems, keeping all informed and up-to-date on progress of new case submission, following-up on outstanding items, discrepancies and significant issues while maintaining multiple communication tools

  • Issues the client contract in accordance with the plan specifications and federal and state legislation while identifying contracts that may require amendment packages due to legislative changes or product enhancements
  • Minimum Skills Requirement to Hire :

    Minimum Experience : College or University graduate of any course

  • Technical SkillsAbility to use the desktop computer system
  • Booting and shutting down computer, using mouse and keyboard

    Keyboarding skills of 35 WPM, 90-95% accuracy

    Toggling between multiple applications during each transaction

    Pass the BU Math Exam (8 out of 10)Pass the BU English exam (8 out of 10)Ability to use email

    Composing and sending emails

    Proficient in the use of Microsoft and Excel

  • Soft SkillsExcellent in written communication skills
  • Ability to compose a grammatically correct, concise and accurate paragraph

    Ability to proactively respond to situations (escalations or rush requests)

    Able to perform timely investigation and decision making
