Position Overview

Product Operations Head in Manila is responsible for supervising the production teams supporting Indexes, Analytic Models and ESG Data feeds for Global Markets, identifying opportunities for process improvements and coordinating with technology for implementing projects on automation and quality.

Scope of Responsibility

The Product Operations team in Manila performs the function of product updating, data quality assurance, output quality analysis and second level client support for the AsiaPac and European regions.

Product Operations span across MSCI products including Index, Analytics and ESG.

This Executive Director position will supervise the operations, strategic planning, budgetary planning, and overall resource prioritization / augmentation for the team.

This involves managing both internal and external stakeholders in service delivery, client service and product support teams.

The objective is to maintain a high level of value added service and to partner with the Business Units to address key client issues and manage risk.

Also, the Executive Director will be responsible for implementing operations best practices, maintaining operations metrics, implementing process improvement ideas, increasing automation and improving the quality and compliance metrics.

The role will require interface with technology, product support, client service, clients, and will involve adjusting and expanding team capacity to absorb the new products being launched at a global / regional level, partnering with IT teams engaged in the continuous renovation of the data management & product generation technology platforms.

The nature of this role will be complex, challenging, diverse and rewarding

The role would involve workday flexibility to assure support of both AsiaPac and Central European timings.

Specific Knowledge / Skills

  • Prior understanding of Capital Markets and deep exposure to equity and fixed income data and ratios. Exposure to index construction and analytic modeling is a plus
  • Prior exposure to financial sector and financial analytics related products is desirable
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, is a must
  • Ability and willingness to get hands dirty’ in the ground level processes
  • Desired Experience

  • Overall 12 to 15 years work experience, including at least 5 to 6 years’ experience of independently managing large teams.
  • Proven ability to setup teams from scratch and managing knowledge transfer / process migration
  • Agent of positive change, with experience in driving process improvement projects
  • Experience with operational process and quality control design. Exposure to technical engineering and Data Science is a plus
  • Experience in handling client interactions and managing relations with clients
