JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

The Department of Surgery, Division of Outcomes Research and Quality, in the College of Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania, seeks a health services researcher with expertise in one or more of the following areas :

patient reported outcomes,

behavioral health,

health disparities

and / or health economics.

This will be a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The candidate will be expected to :

conduct independent and collaborative research

and to collaborate with clinical researchers in establishing their research programs.

The candidate will also be expected to participate in mentoring of medical students and trainees in an academic surgery department with an expanding research base and exciting opportunities for research and training.

Opportunities are available for a joint appointment and graduate level teaching with our Department of Public Health Sciences in the Penn State- Hershey College of Medicine.

The candidate will join a highly productive, multidisciplinary research division. The Division provides excellent staff support in grants administration, statistical programming, data management, and research computing.

Requirements for the position include :

a doctoral degree

and research experience in a health services research discipline.

Applicants with experience with large observational databases, clinical investigation and / or implementation science are encouraged to apply.

Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
