JOB SUMMARY AND KEY JOB RESULTS

The General Accountant is primarily tasked to render effective and efficient recording of all accounting transactions. The responsibility that goes with this position will cover regular financial statements, report generation and identification of reportable items in the balance sheet as well as compliance with fiduciary / statutory reportorial requirements.

The position calls for involvement in ensuring that all department programs are successfully executed, implementing consistently the policies within the bounds of the VMOs, and identifying the critical requirements needed by the department to achieve its performance scorecard, KRAs and KPIs.

Key job result areas include accurate and timely submission of all required financial statements reports and reportable items, bank reconciliations and various government compliance reports.

1. Recommends plans and programs of the department as to the following areas :

Department budget

Schedule of regulatory reports submission

Improvements on department policies and procedures

2. Bank reconciliation of all banks

3. BIR reportorial requirements

4. Balance sheet reportable items / Integrity of balance sheet accounts

5. Records recurring journal entries

6. Financial statements preparation

7. Responds to business-related communication matters, both internal and external

8. Incentive computation for DSPs

9. Fund Transfer Entries

10. Checks the following documents :

Accounts payable vouchers (WER)

Cash advance and liquidation

  • Re-classifies and posts various accounting entries for adjustment;
  • COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS :

    I. KNOWLEDGE :

  • 1.1 aptitude for working with numbers - generally accepted accounting principles and their applicants;
  • 1.2 with updated understanding of current accepted accounting practices, policies and standards;
  • 1.3 concepts and principles of people management

    II. SKILLS

  • 2.1 computer proficiency - accounting softwares and its application;
  • 2.2 interpersonal skills - ability to harmoniously work with both internal and external contacts;
  • 2.3 organizational skills - contact with all levels within the organization.

    2.4 Multi-tasking in fast-paced orientation

    2.5 Equipment operation - ability to operate basic office machines such as computer system, fax machine, scanner, printer, copier.

    III. EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT :

    BS Accountancy or its equivalent

    Qualification : Certified Public Accountant

    IV. EXPERIENCE

    With 3 to 4 years solid experience in all phases of Accounting
