The Communications SaaS Operations team is an integral part Oracle’s Communications Global Business Unit which provides integrated Communications and Cloud solutions.
The Communications SaaS Operations team provides the Communications SaaS solutions technical, functional, and operational support link between Level 1 support, IaaS and PaaS operations teams, and SaaS application development teams for Oracle’s Communication Global Business Unit.
Position Description :
Communications SaaS Operations Engineer will provide 24x7x365 coverage, on a per shift basis, for the operations and maintenance of mission critical Communications SaaS offerings deployed in production Cloud Platform (IaaS and PaaS) and Database environments.
The team’s primary responsibility is to manage and maintain the SaaS applications hosted within the Cloud Infrastructure, diagnose, debug and resolve customer reported issues on Communications SaaS solutions, working in partnership with Cloud Operations and other teams, and developers.
The team members continually exercise and grow diverse skills, as they deliver the highest quality support possible to customers.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Perform day-day operational activities in support of SaaS offerings production Service Level Agreement .
Perform duties as defined by Incident Management, Change Management processes.
Participate with the investigation, documentation, and resolution of issues affecting production systems.
Interact with colleagues on technical and functional topics related to operational and support of SaaS products and services.
Quickly master technical and functional areas to perform the duties assigned.
Motivated to learn cutting edge Cloud computing technologies, tools, and services.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with networking and the OSI model.
Experience with programming in a high level language such as Python, Perl or Java.
Experience with microservice architecture, APIs (REST API) and container-based deployment (Docker)
Experience with continuous integration environments (CI / CD) and continuous delivery / deployment tools (Jenkins Experience with web-
based / Cloud-based software version control tools such as GitLab-CI, GitHub, Git (command-line) Fundamental understanding of cloud orchestration tool (e.
g. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
Fundamental understanding of DevOps, Agile, methodologies and practices.
Fundamental understanding of monitoring, analytics tool / applications, such as ELK, Kibana dashboards, and Grafana.
Fundamental understanding of ITIL practices. Fundamental understanding of relational databases, SQL language, and Database Management tools.
Summary of Qualifications :
Degree major in Computer Science, Engineering, and other Technical major, or equivalent work experience. Technical problem solving capabilities and the ability to breakdown complex problems across multiple domains.
Experience with production support processes and tools such as : Incident Management, Change Management, Ticketing Systems, Service Level Agreements, Escalation processes.
Excellent communications skills - verbal and written English. Motivated to learn multiple, cutting edge technologies in the cloud industry.
Technical problem solving capabilities and the ability to breakdown complex problems across multiple domains. Experience with Linux operating system and administration with shell scripting languages. 1-3 years’ experience.

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database / applications company.
Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server / network capacity. React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools escalating to management where appropriate.
Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and / or troubleshoot the system. Responsible for support documentation as well.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures.
2-4 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
