Job Description : BUSINESS ANALYST


The Business Analyst is responsible foranalyzing and defining stakeholders / business owners / client’s requirements inorder to provide comprehensive consultation and long-term recommendation to themanagement on both the software applications development and business aspects.

Regularly interacting with the Business users and Scrum Engineering teams, theywill ensure the maximum utilization of the applications capability and workcontinuously on bridging the gap between application limitation and userexpectation.

  • This role will contribute to operationscontinuous improvement by understanding the needs of the business, analyzing areasof improvement and coherently communicating them, while supporting developmentof effective solutions;
  • coupled with supporting and delivering key continuousimprovement as needed across people, process, and policy in collaboration withother enabling teams.


    The Business Analyst is expected tosignificantly impact and drive technical analysis of our business processes andwork very closely with the Product teams, Scrum Engineering teams, andStakeholders.

  • Investigate, record, analyze andconfirm system requirements and business processes;
  • Identify overlappingrequirements / processes across the existing and upcoming product range;
  • Negotiate acceptance criteria with thestakeholders and business units;
  • Produce high quality and conciserequirements and design documents which accurately reflect the businessrequirements and can be clearly understood by internal or external SolutionDevelopers;
  • Provide well-reasoned qualityuser-centered, user-interface design advice to the software developersconsistent with the architecture and security principles and standards;
  • Support User Acceptance Testing,verifying bugs / issues with the stakeholders and business units;
  • Manage requests, analyze changes, andfollow the process of changing requests whilst being reactive and amenable tothe ever-changing landscape.
  • Key accountabilities include :

  • Work with business users to elicit anddefine user requirements through the use of the most appropriate method(s),translating them into functional requirements and contributing to managementexpectations;
  • Analyse requirements that are uniquelytraceable, verifiable, and prioritised in a manner that is acceptable to bothbusiness and technology stakeholders;
  • Use data and process modelling tools(including but not limited to process mapping, business, object, and dataflowmodelling) to analyse and represent information in an effective form, in orderto translate business requirements into meaningful statements of work;
  • Assess existing processes to identifyredesign or enhancement opportunities to deliver improved productivity orefficiency to the business;
  • Produce conceptual designs andcontribute to the development of business cases, Return on Investment and NetPresent Value calculations;
  • Support the delivery of featuresincluding on-going JIRA maintenance of features and stories / tasks;
  • Communicate iteration priorities,feature sets, roadmaps, and customer feedback to a variety of differentstakeholders and executives;
  • Apply strong Business Analysis skillsand methodologies to ensure that what is produced is aligned and valuemaximized for our clients;
  • Engage and discuss with the business onthe status of a project, as well as constantly ensuring our businessrequirements are understood by the team;
  • Support and review the testingscenarios, test data, and defects verification throughout the deliverylifecycle;
  • Represent the project team atworkshops, presentations, showcases, and other meetings as appropriate,ensuring any decisions made are communicated back to the engineering teams andscrum masters.
  • Qualifications

    The Business Analyst should have expertlevel knowledge required to assist our team in technical analysis and theirexperience should include the following :

  • The ideal candidate will have a degreerelevant to Information Technology / Computer Science / Business (or equivalent)and at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a project drivenenvironment;
  • Good skill and expertise in Discoverymethodologies with a high-level focus on elicitation and requirements gathering& documentation, using tools such as JIRA / Confluence / Redmine / Trello;
  • Hands-on experience in influencing andcollaborating with internal stakeholders such as Product Owners, SolutionDesigners, and Architects, leading the workstream;
  • Experience with Agile methodology andworking alongside Scrum Masters and Engineering Managers;
  • Advanced skills in using suitable toolsfor business modeling, drawing business and technical flows / diagrams, creatingmockups / wireframes / prototypes;
  • Working knowledge of various aspects oftechnology solutions (e.g. user interfaces, APIs, databases, systemsintegration) and dealing with technology specialists;
  • Have basic knowledge of cloud-basedtechnologies (AWS);
  • The ability to quickly build anunderstanding of the business environment, operating models, and terminology;
  • Strong problem solving andtroubleshooting skills, with an acute focus on attention to detail;
  • Excellent English communication andfacilitation skills (both verbal & written) and strong Presentationcapabilities;
  • Experience in the UI / UX areas andunderstanding of the user-centric mindset;
  • It would be nice to have additionaltechnical understanding in the following areas :

  • Previous experience analysing anddefining ERP or Financial IT systems;
  • Experience in finance with real-timetrading systems and market data;
  • Experience in working in a regulatedfinancial company;
  • Has previously worked withmultinational global remote teams;
