About The Company

The Pique Lab is a rapidly growing start-up in the private enrichment space in Singapore that is focused on the delivery of Science classes to kids between the ages of 9 to 12.

Over the past 7 years, we have helped over 7,836 students achieve extraordinary improvements in their Science results (A & A*s) with our team of passionate teachers, backed by our robust learning methodology.

We are looking for talented creatives to support our engineering and product development team to build digital products in order to create massive value for our stakeholders.

The Opportunity

You will be working closely with our software engineering team in creating fantastic user experiences for our organisation's digital solutions (web / mobile apps).

Creating seamless and user-friendly digital experiences mean a lot to us . Your work is instrumental in putting smiles on our different stakeholders' faces when they interact with our apps.

As a creative in our team, we will challenge you to grow professionally. You will also work alongside with a young team of creatives with strong work ethics and get opportunities to lead your own projects.

You must be someone who is open-minded, highly inquisitive and love to apply what you learnt to solve real-world problems.

If you have a great eye for visuals, that’s awesome. Let’s take that further so that you can produce practical and effective user experience and user interface designs.

Location : Remote Till Further Notice (Studio Diliman , Quezon City, Metro Manila)

Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 10AM to 7PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)

Period of Engagement :

6 months

with the prospects of extension based on business needs & work performance)

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design intuitive user experiences for web & mobile app environments based on understanding of personas, behaviour, stakeholder needs and technical constraints
  • Establish design guidelines based on the best UI / UX practices & identify potential application areas for the organization’s digital solutions
  • Engage in rapid prototyping to generate low-fidelity mockups & interactive prototypes based on user stories, customer journeys and user flows
  • Collaborate with our illustration team to define the aesthetics of the digital experience & produce high-fidelity mockups on Figma
  • Collaborate with the software engineering team to execute your designs and prioritize version releases
  • Conduct usability assessments with different stakeholders to validate your design and translate your insights to actionable recommendations
  • What Does It Take To Be A UI / UX Designer With Us?

    Good Understanding of End-to-End UI / UX Design Process : User research (personas, customer journeys), ideation (researching best practices, user flows), prototyping (low & high-fidelity mock-ups), evaluating (usability assessment) & continued iterations with a goal of creating better digital experiences.

    Strong UI / UX Design Experience & Track Record : You should ideally have a portfolio of digital projects that demonstrates strong UI / UX design skills.

    NOTE : Portfolio & Experience trumps Academic Qualifications, any day!)

    Strong Proficiency In Design Software : We do most of our UI / UX work on Figma and occasionally on Adobe Illustrator / Adobe XD.

    You should ideally be proficient in at least 2 of the 3 tools that we use and also have a strong understanding of various key strokes and workflows in helping you reach your intended outcomes.

    Intense Passion In What You Do : You should ideally have an unwavering commitment towards delivering great work. You should always challenge yourself and your team members to think creatively.

    Research should be second nature to you when it comes to identifying the best practices & how you can leverage on them in your work.

    Willingness To Learn & Collaborate : We need team players who can work well with different stakeholders throughout the entire design process.

    You must be open to receiving and giving feedback, so that everyone can learn together.

    Commitment & Perseverance : You must be committed to mastery and be willing to put in the hard work to learn as much as possible.

    It’s common to expect putting in extra hours during the training phase to get your fundamentals right. Trust me, it’ll pay off eventually.

    Good Command of The English Language (written & spoken)

    Extra Good To Haves : Being proficient in HTML / CSS / JS is not compulsory for this role but a good to have!
