A Payroll Manager is responsible for detailed processing and managing the compensation and benefits of employees, and ensuring strict compliance with the company and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee the whole Compensation & Benefits team
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responding to any payroll-related concerns and inquiries
Compiling payroll metrics and dashboards
Preparing financial reports and periodic payroll reports for review by the management
Preparing and distributing income statements
Compiling and maintaining accurate records of payroll transactions
Reporting to management regarding daily activities and issues
Frequently reviewing tax and government regulations regarding salaries and payroll information
Working closely with the management regarding budget and expenses
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
Five years of related experience in Payroll Management
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with payroll software.
In-depth knowledge of payroll practices and general accounting principles
Excellent communication skills and an outstanding eye for detail
Must demonstrate strong analytical thinking skills
Should possess strong knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
