Job Description : StoryLabs is an award-winning creative team of passionate storytellers editors, content strategists, video specialists, and designers trained to create native advertising content for over 500 active Summit Media advertisers across Summit's integrated platforms, which include websites, social channels, print magazines, events, and out-
of-home advertising (OOH). A native ad is an editorial content created in partnership with an advertiser. It's the most current and popular form of branded content that provides value to the readers through engaging stories aligned with the advertiser's communication objectives while staying true to the natural form, function, feel, and voice of the publishing brand.
From ideation to production, and to actual content output, the Native Advertising Editor is present every step of the way.
Native Advertising Editors should, at all times, be able to consider the requirements and limitations of both the publisher and the advertiser.
Required to monitor the performance of content, ensuring that internal targets are reached, while also presenting insight reports on these.
The job also requires them to represent Summit Media and StoryLabs at events, briefings, and presentations, as well as a photo or video shoots for native advertising projects.
Should have considerable journalism experience but should also be aware of the importance of revenue generation. Candidates should be aware that advertising revenue keeps Summit Media’s websites afloat.
They should also recognize the advertisers and clients need a publisher to get their message across. It is the job of the Native Advertising Editor to create a link between the two and make sure that both publisher and advertiser are pleased by and proud of each piece of native advertising content.
The ability to collaborate with and be open to different kinds of people is a must. Native Advertising Editors do not live alone on an island.
They are constantly interacting with artists, advertising executives, members of editorial teams, programmers, and business insight generators, as well as clients and advertisers, and therefore have to know how to work with a wide range of personalities.
Are not timid about criticizing their work and are always open to learning new ways to improve their craft whether it is the actual editing of the content, concept development, or anything else.
They are willing to admit to mistakes and are quick to learn from them. They are also fully accountable for the work they do.
Data-driven : The success of a native advertising campaign is based on acting upon intelligent insights inferred from data.
An Adult : Can deal with things in a mature, adult way; has something else other than work to go home to, but is motivated by everything that is good about being part of Summit Media.
Experience : Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in creative writing, journalism, communication, advertising, or marketing.
Candidate should also have at least three years of work experience. Background in media, a publishing company, a public relations agency, advertising agency, or corporate communications is essential.
Written and spoken fluency in English and impeccable grammar are non-negotiable.
