The City of Takoma Park seeks a full-time Administrative Coordinator to help organize and orchestrate the interactions of the Housing and Community Development department.

The incumbent will provide clerical and administrative support, and will assist with various requests, inquiries, or issues for each of the divisions of the department.

  • Multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills are a must. Typical duties include : Assisting with creating or disseminating documents or projects as needed;
  • Formatting and preparing reports, letters, memos, forms, labels, agendas, requests for proposals, news releases, contracts or other correspondence;
  • Organizing and maintaining various filing systems and manuals; scanning documents for archival purposes; Assisting in maintaining department web pages, preparing and uploading documents to website;
  • Participating in the accounts payable process; Maintaining inventory of office supplies; Scheduling, coordinating, receiving, and greeting visitors;
  • providing telephone reception services to the general public and / or staff; Handling mail, shipping, and packages; Supporting special projects for each division as assigned.

  • Minimum qualifications include : High school diploma or equivalent; and, Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative experience;
  • or, Any combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

    Coordination of multiple divisions in an organization or a multi-site operation, and coordination with varying levels of stakeholder is preferred.

    This position is subject to membership in the AFSCME union. The hourly wage for this position is expected to be between $20.

    56 to $24.95 per hour and will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. We offer a highly competitive benefits package, including 100% paid premiums of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee only coverage, and 80% paid premiums for dependents.
