Research Technologist 1

A full time research technologist position is available in the Neural & Behavioral Sciences Department at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa.

The work in this lab will focus on neurodegenerative diseases.

The Research Technologist will be responsible for running in vivo recordings of gastrointestinal motility, immunohistochemistry and animal modelling of neurodegenerative disease experiments on rodents in the lab.

The research technologist will be responsible for running tests, compiling results and processing reports. The technician will assist in rat surgeries and help provide respective pre and postoperative care.

The technician will be responsible for the day-to-day care of the animals. All work will be conducted in adherence to IACUC policy.

The technician must have good organizational skills, ability to follow instructions and work independently. Some experience with rudimentary data management is essential.

The proper candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience or any other related field.

This is a fixed term appointment for one year from date of hire with possibility of refunding.
