Understand the complexities and intricacies of the preventive and corrective maintenance activities and prepare comprehensive work packs for preventive / corrective maintenance of heavy duty rotating equipment like engines, compressors, pumps, turbines etc.
by studying the operations and maintenance manuals of OEMs, general task lists, equipment specific task lists, overhaul reports, maintenance reports, spare part list, preventive maintenance strategies etc.
and technical discussions with global, site maintenance leads / technical authorities & OEMs / Vendors, etc.,
Lead projects and improvement activities with benefits delivered for the assigned operating units, manufacturing sites, chemical plants, supply chain and distribution locations.
Understand the machinery constructions and maintenance methods such as proactive / preventive / corrective maintenance being followed in operating units and assist them in making changes and improve readiness of maintenance with sufficient time before maintenance activities begin.
Enable the assigned operating units, manufacturing sites, chemical plants, supply chain and distribution locations and it’s on site employees in producing and compiling high value maintenance information and data, as measured by improvement trends in data quality.
Perform role as subject matter expert & / or lead engineer for a group of operating units, manufacturing sites, chemical plants and distribution locations.
Analyze technical data and documents and processes for Upstream businesses by working with engineering, maintenance, operations and project teams & partners.
Primary responsibility in preparing / developing comprehensive workpacks from overhaul reports, maintenance reports, general tasklist, equipment specific task lists, spare part list, equipments drawings, circuit diagrams, P&IDs, operation and maintenance manuals of OEMs etc.
for heavy duty rotary equipments like engines, pumps, compressors, turbines etc., for Upstream operating units as per Shell Standards.
These work packs include detailed description of the tasks that need to be performed for overhauling / maintenance of each machine, parts required, tools required, time required and relationship between tasks.
Create the Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasklists and general task lists based on the maintenance strategy and link it with maintenance plans and items.
Customize the equipment make and model specific workpacks into site specific workpack by adding site conditions and parameters.
Accommodate the PM library changes by converting the turnaround documents to the global workpacks.
Constantly engage with site maintenance leads, original equipment manufacturers, vendors and modify the workpacks as recommended / required by the site maintenance personnels.
Anticipate & plan for mandatory spares, tools and tackles and manpower required for the heavy duty equipments based on the information extracted from maintenance manuals, collate any additional information about equipment & its spares , if required from the vendors and accommodate the information in the workpack.
Interact and communicate with the site focals for Preventive Maintenance Libraries and maintenance strategies, understanding the intricacies about how the actual maintenance activities for heavy duty rotating equipments and other machinery have been planned and performed in various Upstream Operating Units of Shell.
Understanding the functions of the various equipments and instruments and also thorough knowledge of reading / interpreting the engineering drawings (P&IDs, PEFS, PFDs).
Managing stakeholders / representatives of various operating units through effective communication and identifying & resolving the bottlenecks for data analysis, maintaining issue logs and use the same in implementing changes / improvments in the processes.
Network with counterparts and other levels of organization across the different operating units, data centers and develop external networks outside of FOD and Shell.
Will be assigned as trainer for area of development of comprehensive work packs from equipment specific task lists and work instructions for heavy duty rotary equipment .
May share the responsibility with supervisor in staff development of 2 to 10 members.
Perform lead data engineering role and other technical functions, with scope covering technical data and documents of the operating units, manufacturing sites, chemical plants, supply chain and distribution locations.
This role is expected to help rotating equipment engineers in implementing the standard work packs for preventive / corrective maintenance of various equipment uniformly in various operating units across the globe.
Provision, as subject matter expert (SME), for Technical Support that enables the operating units, Sites to leverage the benefits of utilizing the Engineering Services, work packs to the fullest extent.
Leadership in Group and FOD efforts to Standardize processes, tools, benchmarks, standards and best practices. May also be assigned to lead an FOD assigned Sites, OUs or Data Project Team with 2 to 10 members.
