Position Summary The Associate Instructional Designer works closely with the program subject matter experts to create training content for diverse methodologies, with focus on learning experiences that will ensure the readiness of consultants to respond to various customer contacts (web-based training, instructor-led training), develops training-related assessments to meet the objectives as defined by the design document;
delivers train-the-trainer sessions to ensure the trainer can effectively deliver the training design, and conducts an assessment using Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation.
Associate Instructional Designers in this role get to :
Develop training materials : Script training content. Review and apply required changes to meet standards. Communicate with SME to validate changes.
Collaborate with the project team to meet project requirements.
Participate in implementation : Schedule and deliver train-the-trainer sessions. Identify the items that need to be available before, during, after training and receives confirmation from training delivery owner that all technologies and facility requirements are enabled or prepared.
Conduct training evaluation : Evaluate the training to determine if the objectives were met using Kirkpatrick’s Four Level of Evaluation.
Check L1-L4 results, lessons learned, and implementation issues log.
Edit online, blended, and classroom curriculum, programs and learning aids.
Recommend the most suitable corrections in reference to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and language usage.
Select or recommend use of layouts, graphics, and illustrations to amplify or clarify instructional objectives.
Perform functional testing of e-learning courses and identify course defects per established QA processes and standards.
Communicate feedback, verbally and in writing, to instructional designers, graphic designers, and media developers.
Adhere to style guides and QA standards for development of instructional materials.
Maintain department style guide and QA documents.
To succeed in this position, you must :
Have expertise on the ADDIE and SAM process, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and other relevant instructional models
Have experience in writing training materials
Have strong facilitation and classroom management skills (preferred, but not required)
Have knowledge of adult learning principles, constructivism, and other learning theories
Have experience developing multiple projects at one time successfully even when those projects may fall outside of core responsibilities
Have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers, driving diverse workgroups to collaborative solutions
Have strong interest and commitment to customer satisfaction and delivering world-class customer service
Develop required materials as stipulated in the project’s statement of work (classroom training, virtual training, self-paced, or e-learning courses)
Evaluate the training to determine if the objectives were met using Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation
Have a minimum of one year experience in customer or technical support service or business process outsourcing (BPO) environment
Have a bachelor’s or college degree with a minimum of two years’ experience in learning and development environment focusing on training curriculum design, development, and delivery (equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above)
Have at least five years related experience in editing with a minimum of 1-3 years writing / editing instructional materials.
Be knowledgeable of editing methods and practices.
Be knowledgeable in learning objectives and curriculum design.
Have Excellent written and spoken English language skills, including spelling and punctuation.
Have Experience with multiple style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications, and Elements of Style).
Have Experience in supporting teams both locally and virtually.
