Translations department is part of the Documents & Translations domain on Market Intelligence division at S&P Global. The team is responsible for delivering accurate and timely translated content to internal financial and non-
financial data collection teams within the division. It also supports translation requirements for other divisions as well as Corporate, Technology, Legal and News groups within the company.
A Translator is responsible for producing quality translation in the target language to support the company’s strategy in making S&P products available in target regions and industries.

Convert (translate / localize) high-level documents in the source language to the target language ( English to Simplified Chinese or vice-versa)
Relay the style and tone of the original language
Quality Assurance of translated and localized materials
Creating and maintenance language glossaries, dictionaries, and translation memories utilized for translation, online research of company-related information
Drafting of language-specific style guides based on project requirements
Understand the working of the dataset, be aware of the workflows and have good working knowledge of work tools
Deliver on predefined individual and team targets including delivering outcomes with quality and excellence.
Stay abreast of updated guidelines and policies
Daily reporting of work performed during the day in the reporting tools; fix errors as per quality feedback within specified time and report back after completion
Work on new projects as assigned from time to time as per Company requirements
Testing new tools, participation in calls and timely and appropriate response to mails from co-workers & Management Team
Escalating concerns on time and with correct line of communication
Ideate and execute Process improvement and Automation projects
Manage work schedule to meet deadlines
What We’re Looking For
Native level fluency in Simplified Chinese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Simplified Chinese, including familiarity with Chinese culture and customs, and financial markets
Strong translation skills (English to Simplified Chinese)
Language proficiency certification required
Experience of working as a translator / localization specialist for at least three years
Have worked on translation and localization projects particularly related to financial industry / markets
BA or MA in Foreign Language, Linguistics, Translation, Interpreting
Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Analytical mindset and strong in logical reasoning
Well versed with Internet searching and Microsoft Office
An inquisitive and investigative nature
A positive attitude, strong interest in research, flair for translation, and an eye for detail
Knowledge of Accounting and Financial subject matter, concepts and terms is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Proactive, highly motivated, and has a positive attitude
Ability to interact with many levels and deal with issues in a mature and professional manner (excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication across teams)
Ability to work in a Team as well as independently
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver with regard to work deadlines, SLA’s, and targets
