We are looking for experienced designers to join our Global Excellence Centre in Manila. The opportunity is in our growing UK team, where you will be delivering outcomes for major UK clients.
The team works on projects across Buildings, Infrastructure and Water and so requires someone with a broad understanding and / or appetite to learn.
Fulfilling a senior role within team, providing leadership and mentoring to technician teams. Managing the co-ordination and delivery of projects to meet time quality and budgetary targets, whilst meeting or exceeding Clients’ expectationsResponsibilitiesThe main duties of the BIM Manager include, but are not limited to :
Chair and attend BIM review meetings
Develop, review, approve and maintain the suite of BIM documentation guidelines including BIM standards, implementation plans, and quality control procedures
Liaising with Global BIM leaders to ensure systems, processes and documentation developed is in line with global standards and best practise
Creation of templates, families and automation of software.
Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customisation of these products.
Plan, execute and manage the ongoing implementation of BIM within all disciplines in the region.
Develop, implement and enforce BIM workflow processes and best practise.
Stay up to date with the latest best practise within BIM and the interaction of BIM software with other software used within the business (Rivet to Etabs or Robot and vice versa)
Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards for all drawings released.
Provide internal training at a basic and intermediate level to technician level staff.
Provide expert support in the resolution of technical issues in the application execution of BIM.
Trouble shoot specific BIM related problems.
Coordinate and establish project standards with clients, design teams and stakeholders.
Identify trends and business opportunities relating to BIM and make recommendations.
Review progress, compliance and clash detection reports produced by the project BIM coordinator
Define clash detection rules at various project stages, monitor the progress of the resolution of clashes and constructability issues
Produce periodic reports to the team expressing progress with compliance and clash resolution
Qualifications and Experience
Can demonstrate experience as a technician and experience working on major project design or construction and application of BIM
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in BIM management is preferred
Experience in managing and leading teams of technicians and CAD staff in the project environment.
Knowledge of international standards codes and best practise in relation to the application of BIM into project including BS 1192 and PS 1192 and AIA standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Sound technical skills and ability to produce BIM models and CAD outputs to budget and programme.
Ability to adopt and operate in a flexible manner to suit the audience and situation
Ability to forward plan, organise and prioritise works and coordinate with project manages and team leaders as required.
Ability to build rapport with work colleagues.
Experience in the use and application of BIM in Middle East in a consultant environment is essential.
Must be able to work with, mentor, and develop BIM teams of lesser experienced BIM technicians.
Experience in the integration and application of BIM in a multi-disciplinary environment.
