Position Purpose & Summary
This position is responsible to counterparty risk management.
The will coordinate all counter-party risk and financial service related activities for Cargill businesses in the Vismin areas of Philippines.
He / she will work closely with businesses, other financial functions and CBS Finance team to continue improving credit to cash process and ensure the baselines are met.
Primary accountabilities of this role include :
Business partnering in analyzing, monitoring and resolving credit risks issue (credit analysis, overdue and bad debt follow-
up and collection, risk mitigations, etc) within the assigned portfolio and ensure the compliance of businesses to Counter-party risk policies
Reporting and monitoring the performance of its portfolio against the agreed targets, social economic development in the location as well as issues within agriculture market
Providing ad-hoc reports related to financial risks as assigned by Credit Manager.
The FSA will work closely with the FRM Manager in performing his / her roles and responsibilities as well as the various stakeholders of the businesses unit he / she is tagged to within the appropriate risk appetite. Principal Accountability
70% Business Partnering- Portfolio Management and Risk Mitigation
Facilitate discussion with BU’s commercial and provide guidance for proper credit support / withdrawal; review effectiveness of credit support to customers
Perform independent counterparty assessments on credit requests;
Approve credit exposure request within the delegated approval authority;
Ensure proper documentation in place as required by policy and approval
Work closely to relevant stakeholders to explore and implement proper risk mitigations and financial solutions for customers;
Perform customer visit to develop understanding of the market and business requirement and demonstrate such understanding in his / her credit decision
Actively and timely work with the commercial team in high / moderate-risk highlights and debt repayment plan of overdue / bad debt customers.
Frequently meeting with the stakeholders of his / her portfolio to discuss credit issues and or future requirement;
Work closely with legal and commercial teams in litigation cases (if any) and follow up bad debt recovery
Work with commercial team and remaining Finance function to achieve assigned targets
Ensure self compliancy to the counter-party risk policies in the day to day activities and develop other stakeholders’understanding of the policies and processes by performing trainings and updates-
both formal and informal.
30% Performance reporting and monitoring Continuous improvement
Actively monitor and oversee the assigned customer portfolio e.g. over limit and past-due; analyse aging and AR trend of the portfolio to ensure credit targets and working capital metrics are met;
Prompt and accurate delivery of month-end credit report and provide insights on the key changes to the portfolio performance
Provide timely alerts to the credit manager on key industry and or social economic events in the locations and give analysis on potential impact to the portfolio;
Ensure accurate and prompt update of customer credit information in the system and master file as per the credit approval
Provides input and drive continuous improvement in systems, processes and procedures. Evaluate and communicate for change
Minimum Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
Strong accounting experience with technical knowledge in Counterparty risk.
Strong Learning and execution agility to understand new derivative products, trading strategies and business model.
Demonstrated change agility.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand and use technology to improve process and control.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to travel and work at the plant of the assigned business
Ability to travel +50% of the time into location’s sites and key customers
Preferred Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
Proficient knowledge in current business financial processes and systems.
Experience in Commodity trading business.
Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of continuous improvement, process optimization and intellectual curiosity.
Understanding and experience working with JDE, SAP, and Lynx.
