Role description :
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Apply technical engineering techniques and methods using international design standards such as UK, US, and Middle East Mechanical Design Codes.
Prepare drawing markups and other design related documents.
Oversee the project's detailed design and calculation.
Supervise the design and drawing markup processes.
Ensure design resources are working effectively and efficiently.
Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements.
Liaise with other disciplines within the MEP Project Team for coordination MEP works and ensure all requirements are understood.
Prepare and register all relevant documentation and design reports and ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the Arcadis requirements.
Liaise with the Function Leaders and Design Manager to keep informed of all developments or changes associated with the project.
Ensure that the DE / AE / GEs supporting him / her are fully utilized.
Identify risks and potential deviations to the project's required scope of work.
Ensure compliance with scope of works, time schedule and cost control.
Deliver technically complete design documentation, summary reports and technical reports for Design Managers.
COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Record man-hour charges accurately into weekly timesheets and ensure correctness of project and non-project man-hour charges.
To be fully utilized. Always seek new work / tasks from Principal Engineer / Function Leader
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES :
Resource and develop skills and knowledge base of Design, Assistant and Graduate Engineers assigned to projects.
Familiarize the CIBSE Training and Development Scheme and render mentoring duties to all Design, Assistant, and Graduate Engineers based on the CIBSE Competence Criteria.
Liaise with BIM Manager and BIM Coordinators assigned to projects.
Working to achieve project delivery on time to budget and to a high standard in accordance with Client expectations.
Take responsibility for defined tasks within prescribed limits.
Gain experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures.
Become familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis
Qualifications & Experience :
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from recognized University.
Belong to the top 20% of the engineering class.
Licensed Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME).
8 to 10 years minimum relevant post-graduate experience.
Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) is an advantage but is not required.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide solutions to technical problems.
Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
Highly proficient in the application of international design standards : UK, US, and Local Middle Ease Codes.
Highly proficient in the following mechanical engineering design fundamentals : heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, etc.
Knowledgeable in AUTOCAD, REVIT, Navisworks and BIM environment.
Highly proficient in using the following engineering software : REVIT IES, HAP, SKETCHUP and PIPEFLO and NAVISWORKS.
Actively continue to develop personally and technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD training.
