About the role
PurposeThis role will lead a team of analysts and specialists to ensure that a range of General Ledger, Cost Accounting and Period End Close activities are performed in a timely, accurate and effective manner for BHP’s Petroleum and Minerals America companies as well as building the culture of the team, continuous process improvement and supporting & embedding of transitioned activity.
Core AccountabilitiesEnsure that a range of General Ledger, Cost Accounting and Period End Close activities and overall financial governance for the Petroleum and Minerals America businesses are performed in a timely, accurate and effective manner and facilitate informed business decisions and meet compliance requirements.
Direct and coach team to ensure that team targets are achieved and personal technical skills continue to developLead the team by setting expectations, developing competencies, evaluating and managing performanceProvide technical process development to team membersIdentify and managed the process and transactional risks and provide input into planning and actioning risk assessmentsWork collaboratively with other Team Leads to ensure global process standardizationIdentify and implement process simplification and productivity measures
Purpose Core Accountabilities
QualificationsInternationally recognised qualifications in Accounting or Finance including accounting body certification (CA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA etc.
Experience & Technical CompetenciesMinimum of 5 years' experience working with a large corporate or professional environmentExperience in leading teamsSound knowledge of accounting processPrior experience managing transition of work would be highly regardedExperience with shared service functions preferredExperience with SAP preferredNon-
Technical CompetenciesFluent English, both verbal and writtenFluent Spanish, both verbal and written a benefit
