The SOX Senior Associate is responsible for ensuring that the internal controls over financial reporting of clients are within the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance framework.
The staff helps run the SOX Audit engagement for US publicly traded companies. Responsibilities / Job duties may include : Identifies areas of highest risk to help in the achievement of client goalsReviews documentation and conducts interviews necessary to evaluate processes and controls designed to manage high-risk areasWorks on projects to document, test, and analyze client business processes to improve bottom-line resultsPrepares effective written reports and supports findings with proper documentationImplements internal human resource planning processes including recruiting, hiring, and developing Professional Staff Specific Requirements : Big 4 accounting firm background, at least Senior levelExperience in SOX 404 audits and in implementing SOX 404 programsPrepare risk assessments and scoping documentationPrepare process documentation (narratives, flowcharts, risk control matrices)Knowledge in Visio flowcharting softwarePerform process and control walk-throughsDesign test plans and perform and execute testingReview process documentation and walk-throughs prepared by junior staffReview testing by junior staffPerform deficiency evaluationsExperience in Technology, Life Sciences, or Manufacturing Industries, preferred.
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
CPA, CIA, CMA or CISA preferred.Experience working with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and MS Dynamics products preferred.Strong motivation to meet client deadlines and provide excellent client service.
Experience analyzing business risks, evaluating business processes, assessing internal controls, documenting work performed, and writing concise and persuasive project reports.
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze complex data, evaluate information and systems, and draw logical conclusions.
Demonstrated skills in effectively working with all levels of management.Excellent leadership and management abilities with supervisory experience over multiple projects and professional staff.
Ability to mentor and train others.Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Willingness and ability to travel to client locations is required, average travel about 30%.
