Work Information :

  • Full time / probationary employment
  • Monday to Friday, 10PM-7AM
  • HMO on Day 1

  • What We Do : The PayScale Benchmarking Team solves puzzles for our customers. We work to ensure that our customers' positions are benchmarked to the appropriate datasets for their jobs.

    We are experts in using PayScale’s proprietary data along with third party compensation surveys to ensure accurate benchmarking and market pricing for our customers.

    What You Do :

    In this role, you will be focused on completing job alignment projects for our clients. This will entail using various tools to ensure that the clients’ jobs are aligned to a similar job in a compensation survey.

    You will be working with internal contacts at Payscale to complete the work and may occasionally interact with customers directly.

    Projects will vary in size from about a dozen jobs to potentially several hundred. You may receive customer questions via email and will triage those questions to be handled by the appropriate team at Payscale.

    You may respond to level 1 support requests if it pertains to the work you completed.

    On a typical day, you may :

  • Analyze job descriptions and align them to the peer data set in Payfactors
  • Use Excel to assist in querying peer data set
  • Meet with co-workers over video call to review and quality check your work
  • Troubleshoot hard to match jobs with a colleague over video call
  • Triage level 1 customers questions and concerns to other teams at Payscale
  • 30 Days

  • Should have familiarity with the Payfactors product and navigate with few questions
  • Should have familiarity with the Payfactors Peer dataset and understand its uses and limitations
  • Should be able to analyze job descriptions for common jobs and identify key tasks and responsibilities
  • Able to identify jobs that cannot be aligned
  • Should know who to go to with your own questions
  • Be familiar with other teams at Payscale and how they support our customers
  • 60 Days

  • Should be able to complete small, straightforward job alignment projects with coaching and few mistakes
  • Should be able to assist others with large projects
  • Should be able to navigate the Payfactors product with ease
  • Can query the peer data set with ease and can explain its uses and limitations to others
  • Should be able to analyze job descriptions for uncommon jobs and identify key tasks and responsibilities
  • Confidently triage common customer questions to other teams at Payscale and be familiar with how to respond to level-1 requests for support
  • 90 Days

  • Able to complete small and medium-size projects with minimal coaching and few mistakes
  • Starting to lead large projects
  • Can assist new colleagues with common product troubleshooting
  • Can assist new colleagues with common questions about the peer data set
  • Confidently triage most customer questions and respond to level-1 requests for support.

  • Can complete projects of any size, on time.
  • Can explain how to navigate the Payfactors product to new teammates
  • Can fully explain the peer data set to new teammates
  • Can confidently analyze any type of job and determine the best alignment within the Payfactors Peer dataset, including knowing when not to align a job
  • Explain to newer colleagues how to triage common customer questions and provide guidance on how to respond to level-1 requests for support
