We are looking for an Area Local Business Development Manager to be part of the Product Management team in an exciting journey to live on to our vision.

The role, reporting to the area head of product management, will be responsible for identifying local product needs and developing them to meet customer needs, within the Indonesia and Philippines area.

Be it a new local product development, or development of variation to existing products, the selected candidate will :

  • Hear customers’ voice on their needs and pain points that Maersk can provide as a solution.
  • Collaborate with fellow product managers and stakeholders to generate ideas, build business cases with value propositions, and drive flawless execution upon business acceptance, with P&L accountability.
  • Work closely with procurement regarding strategic procurement and vendor relationships.
  • Become an active partner to Maersk salesforce by means of consultation, customer business reviews, and product training.

    Key responsibilities

  • Start scope - set and support new local product or variations to existing product, potentially upon customer request. Use the market dynamics to translate into new opportunities that Maersk will tap into.
  • Manage area product development outside intermodal and CHB scope (including business cases) with clear value propositions to customers.
  • Customer interaction with active participation in business reviews to understand pain point and problem solving.
  • Collaboration with procurement on strategic sourcing local products.
  • Support sales on product consultation, customer understanding, product trainings with local content.
  • Own the weekly and monthly reporting on the performance of your products with the required metrics, with accountability on profitability.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, i.e. Sales, Delivery, Procurement, Customer Service to ensure your product is impactful to our customers.
  • We are looking for

  • A person with proven experience and track record from the logistics industry, comfortable on project logistics, strong network with customers and has great passion in the container logistics and supply chain services.
  • A person with excellent analytical still and is comfortable on seeing numbers.
  • A person with structured and effective communication skills with the ability to influence decisions from stakeholders.
  • A person with result driven mindset that works well in a collaborative, cross functional environment with little supervision or oversight.
