The Business Analyst will be facilitating workshops and interviewing business area leads to document and validate requirements, current and future state architecture, and asset management processes to complete key deliverables of the Onboarding / Offboarding project.

The role will be on a fixed term contract for 6 months .

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and absorb new applications, complex system capabilities, data relationships and business processes
  • Lead and facilitate workshops to collect and document business requirements and technical requirements
  • Gather and confirm financial and reporting requirements and issues through interviews with business area leads
  • Elicit and document business and technical requirements for onboarding / offboarding and measures, financial reporting, and KPIs with clarity, concision and precision and with a level appropriate to audience
  • Transform business and stakeholder requirements into system requirements, and create quality documentation (e.g., Current and Future State Architectures, and Business Process Models)
  • Analyze and identify requirements and be able to query and validate data quality against business and stakeholder requirements
  • Analyze data resources and apply innovative skills to define and document systems and areas of improvement
  • Develop quality assurance test plans and participate in testing
  • Verify findings with business and stakeholders to validate current and future state of asset reporting measures
  • Investigate and recommend changes or continuous improvement ideas
  • Analyze and review different options for data integration and provide recommendations on the solution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Skills And Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, IT, Commerce or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years business analysis experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CBAP, PBA, CCBA or other business analysis certification is required
  • Demonstrated experience in onboarding / offboarding would be an asset
  • Experience in an Information Technology environment, with a proven record of accomplishment in requirements facilitation, business requirements documentation, business process modelling, technical / functional specifications, and testing plans is required
  • Experience and strong understanding of, application integrations, financial reporting, analysis, trends and forecasting would be an asset
  • Proven data collection and analysis skills together with an ability to use process modelling and analytics tools (e.g.
  • Visio, Excel, Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI, and Tableau) is required

  • Strong verbal and written communication, leadership skills are required, as are excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional business analysis with an emphasis on customer service and ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and senior level management is required
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to deliver training to operational staff related to business operational initiatives, processes and applications would be an asset
  • Experience with SQL Data Query Language, relational databases or cloud database environments would be an asset
  • Being part of a fast paced organization that follows specific goals and processes using SCRUM project management framework
  • Working with an agile software development team with an agile mindset where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration among teams.
  • Working with many cross functional teams responsible for managing, organizing, planning and performing all the work required to deliver quality solutions
  • Nice to have experience with project management software and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Work schedule : 8 am to 5 pm
