About the team

The Marketing & Engagement Group’s mission is for Canva to become the most-loved brand in the world . We do this through brilliant creative executions, marketing strategy, brand governance, community insights and data analysis.

Our internal creative team, Brand Studio , services all of Canva’s product, marketing and leadership teams. We are responsible for championing Canva’s brand, communicating what we stand for internally and to our community, and evolving as we learn, grow and pursue excellence in branding.

We’re looking for a skilled copywriter to join our Brand Studio (Manila) team, working closely alongside our internal Creative team to help produce creative campaigns for our Canva PH goals.

About the Role

As a Copywriter at Canva you will have the opportunity to work on one of the fastest-growing platforms in the world and all the content that promotes and enriches it.

Since launch in April 2013 we have grown exponentially, amassing over 20 million users in over 100 languages.

As a Copywriter at Canva, it’s your mission to create content that makes complex things simple and gives everyday people the ability to make extraordinary things.

We place a strong emphasis on the success of our community. Your words will help to define Canva’s brand ensuring that our customers receive a human, inspiring and educational experience.

This could include copy for branding campaigns, email campaigns, advertising, product positioning, landing pages, social media, video scripting, style guides, and more.

With a fully-equipped internal creative team, Brand Studio, you’ll get more work made in one month than you would in one year at an agency.

What you’ll do

  • Own Canva’s brand voice. Ensure all of our internal teams, marketing channels and product verticals are speaking the same language.
  • Articulate our brand voice through workshops and playbooks, to empower everyone on the team to write on brand too.
  • Produce flawless copy at pace. Work from ideation to execution from 360 campaigns to standalone landing pages, emails, online education tutorials and other channels and various Canva PH initiatives.
  • Write, review and edit copy that’s adaptive and empathetic to every audience and product vertical : Enterprise, Education, Not-for-profit, Pro and Free.
  • Collaborate with a talented team of designers, marketers, strategists, producers and other writers and create and publish on-brand content at high velocity.
  • No word salads. You strike a balance between simplicity, clarity and playfulness.
  • We'd love it if you have...

  • 3+ years experience as a copywriter or Editor, creating a diverse range of marketing content.A master storyteller, able to sell the brand and its products to myriad demographics and personas with a consistent tone of voice.
  • Attention to detail, style and tone. You write with clarity and empathy, and there’s also a sense of playfulness and whimsy that comes across in your work.
  • Passion for writing and reviewing beautifully crafted copy for every kind of content - from ad copy to landing pages and everything in between.
  • A keen eye for detail, experienced or interested in localization, editing or proofreading.
  • Experience in writing for high performing digital campaigns is a plus!The ability to create short and long-form copy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bring others along for the ride. Set expectations with stakeholders, communicate openly across multiple teams, and collaborate with multiple creatives to get the job done.
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback and can clearly articulate how copy can be improved.
  • Diligence to hit deadlines, and offer suggestions to streamline and improve team processes.
  • It would obviously help if you can smell spell.
  • While we won’t be taking any blood samples, we’d love to see some Startup DNA you will need to be flexible, pragmatic, strategic, tenacious, and ready to take ownership of deliverables and outcomes ya gotta have hustle!
