GENERAL PURPOSE :

The Communications & Engagement Specialist works closely with the Senior Director to support the day-to-day employee communications, recognition and engagement activities targeted to employees in the Corporate office and the Supply Chain.

This position requires a communications generalist who will provide writing, project management and logistical support for internal communications, live meetings and activities designed to educate and engage employees, drive emotional connection to the Ross and dd’s brands, support business objectives and reinforce the company culture.

This individual will provide event management support for Dublin-based live meetings and events, both on and offsite.

The Specialist is a highly-organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and can easily adapt to last-minute changes or unexpected requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Communications :

  • Work closely with Corporate Communications Senior Director to make recommendations, develop plans and implement communications in support of a broad range of topics and program communications.
  • Serve as a point of contact for routine communications needs and special requests from Dublin-based functional business partners.
  • Provide writing and editing support and make recommendations to ensure messages are clear.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain HR to ensure consistency of messaging for Company-wide communications.
  • Draft PowerPoint presentations and talking points for business leaders.
  • Support video production and editing needs.
  • Work closely with NY-based Communications & Engagement team to coordinate and execute communications locally. Maintain editorial calendar to minimize information overload for employees.
  • Participate in annual Communications & Engagement Team planning sessions.
  • Events :

  • Manage all logistics and provide event management and technical support for Corporate meetings and Associate engagement events (i.
  • e. Town Halls), including scheduling, coordinating details with venue and A / V needs.

  • Work closely with Corporate Social Responsibility team to support their volunteer, fundraising and other employee engagement activities.

  • QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • BA / BS degree in English, Communications or related field
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in communications and event planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional manner
  • Organized and independent worker with ability to problem solve
  • Composure and ability to adapt to last-minute requests and changes
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to distill information into easy-to-understand, actionable messages
  • Previous experience planning and managing events
  • Comfort working with video editing, A / V and related technology
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with various teams across multiple functions and locations.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ADA :

  • Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper / files, etc.
  • Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
  • Vision requirements : Ability to see information in print and / or electronically.
  • This role requires regular in-office presence, including engagement in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration and client support.
  • However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
