The key tasks of the Inventory Controller :

Working with R&D and Database team and suppliers to ensure all supplier price lists are entered correctly in our purchasing system (NetSuite)

Work with R&D and Sales teams to do projections on sales and stock demand

Set up min & max levels of inventory

Learn key dates globally, eg summer closure in China, so that orders can be placed around these, and points of demand can be projected

Assist with stock enquiries

Must understand job builds (bill of materials)

Learn how to achieve better buying through bulk deals

Learn how to save costs for example freight

Identify opportunities for cost saving

Do forecast sales projections by SKU (stock line)

Prepare draft PO’s, to be signed off by a director

Assist with other purchasing tasks as required
