Responsibilities :

  • Performs first-level problem determination andresolution
  • Assists users or answers basic user inquiriesfor the point-of-sale / point-of-service system and other IT systems for which hehas been trained
  • Brings to the appropriate IT Branch Officerproblems / issues that cannot be solved at his level or inquiries he was nottrained to answer
  • Installs POS servers, POS terminals, userworkstations and related IT equipment
  • Connects the equipment to power source andcommunication lines that allow the transmission of information over computernetworks
  • Ensures that all components are configured tofunction together correctly
  • Goes to user’s workplaces to make the necessarydiagnosis of a reportedly malfunctioning equipment and bring the equipment backto working condition
  • Assists in preventive maintenance procedures ona regular basis
  • Resolve problems occurring from applicationprograms
  • Maintains logbooks or operating records, listingeach job that is run and events, such as machine malfunctions, that occurduring their shift
  • Help programmers and system analysts test anddebug new programs, as specifically requested in writing
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion ofcomputer processes
  • Performs and maintains periodic back-up ofinformation tapes and other storage media
  • Ensures that the computer room is clean,orderly, and secure
  • Ensures that the only authorized users areallowed to access branch IT area and equipment including PCs and POS servers / terminals, and network equipment
  • Transfers authorized files electronically(completely, accurately and on-time)
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned
  • Works with other IT Branch Associates; andsupplier’s / service contractor’s agents
  • Requirement :

  • Understands basic computer concepts, currentcomputer architecture
  • Understands point-of-sale / point of serviceconcepts (including hardware and software architecture, troubleshooting andrepair)
  • Travels to user locations to install or maintainequipment
  • Works around the clock, if needed, with adequatebreaks
  • Performs jobs in small, confined spaces thathouse the equipment, as the situation requires
  • Works in shifts, including weekends, andholidays
  • Has adequate knowledge of electronics orcomputer systems
  • Has basic understanding of how to troubleshootPCs and related peripherals
  • Works closely with users
  • Has adequate communication skills
  • Is neat and well groomed
  • Has a pleasing personality
  • Be adaptable and willing to learn
  • Be able to deal with unique or high-levelproblems that a computer is not programmed to handle
  • Be able to work independently or within a teamas needed
  • Be able to run computer applications usingwritten guides approved by ITS Head Office
  • Qualifications :

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s / College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering and related courses Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • At least 1-year related experience
  • Preferably in a Supervisor role / level
  • Flexible to be assigned to work schedules supporting the retail operational hours
  • Willing to be assigned in The SM Store ROXAS
  • Full-time positions available
